AI Delivery and Organisational Transformation Unit

This Level 5 apprenticeship unit supports employed leaders who oversee AI implementation and organisational transformation.

It is different from a full apprenticeship. It is a short, employer-backed unit focused on safe and effective delivery of AI-enabled change.

Who This Unit Is For

This unit is for leaders responsible for setting direction, overseeing AI use, managing change, or helping AI solutions become part of normal organisational processes.

It is relevant when an organisation is moving from AI exploration into implementation.

What You Will Learn

You will develop practical leadership skills in:

  • Leading AI-enabled organisational change
  • Assessing workforce impacts, including reskilling and role redesign
  • Managing organisational AI risks, mitigation, and escalation
  • Supporting audit requirements, regulatory compliance, and incident response planning
  • Monitoring deployed AI systems for performance, bias, drift, and security issues
  • Communicating AI risks and opportunities to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Eligibility

To join this apprenticeship unit, you must be employed, aged 19 or over, and supported by your employer.

You should be in a leadership position with autonomy to deliver technological change or inform investment decisions.

Funding and Delivery

This unit has a minimum of 30 delivery hours and maximum funding of GBP750.

Learners complete a provider-delivered skills test as the minimum assessment requirement, and employers validate the result.

Next Step

If your organisation is preparing to deploy or scale AI systems, contact our team with your employer to discuss whether this unit fits your role.

GCSEs, A-levels or other academic grades are not mandated by law and can be added (or waived) by individual employers and providers. A policy change will shorten the minimum programme length from 12 months to 8 months for new starts on or after 1 August 2025.
